A NEW prize is announced for best oral abstract
There will now be a prize for best Oral abstract as well as best poster, to be judged by the programme committee. The deadline for submission to be considered is 1st December so get your abstracts in here!

An intensive hands on course for anyone with Sponsor oversight and monitoring responsibilities. Practical work includes review of in-depth mock files, source data and research records plus support with risk assessment and advice from a very experienced NHS training team

MHRA Stakeholder Meeting
The MHRA is holding a stakeholder meeting to discuss the following Topics
- Who can take consent
- Who can act as an investigator in a clinical trial
- Arrangements for Exemption of GMP for Hospital and Health Centres
A member of the Forum leadership team will be attending the stakeholder meeting on behalf of members. Only one person per organisation can attend however you can still have your say.

Research Capabiity Funding (RCF) Stakeholder consultation
Dr Louise Wood, Director of Science, Research & Evidence and her directorate are conducting a review of RCF. This review will identify the degree to which RCF is meeting its current aims and whether changes are required to ensure that RCF policy, and its implementation, remain fit for the future of the NIHR. Please read it here and an accompanying note from Louise Wood.
The Forum working groups will be collating a response and if you would like to feed, either by teleconference or by email then please contact email@example.com .

Best Practice in Research Sponsorship: South West Peninsular CRN
The South West Peninsular CRN held an event Best practice in Research Sponsorship. The programme consisted of a mix of presentations followed by a workshop. The day was a brilliant way to engage partners across the region in support of developing Sponsor systems, but most importantly in fostering relationships. Thank you to Pauline McGione for organizing and inviting representation from the Forum.

NEW Forum Resources Exchange is launched!
Our new exchange is live with 500 categorised resources over a variety of topics. Please use it, promote it and feedback on resources to ensure it continues to grow and remain relevant for all.

- General Data Protection Regulation. Preparations for Implementation. Guidance from the MRC for research managers to support interim preparation.
- ‘What does good health and social care research look like’ a short animation to explain the principles outlined in the new UK Policy Framework for health and Social care research.
- A rough guide to types of scientific evidence. A helpful infographic.
The NEW UK policy framework has been published. This important document replaces the Research Governance Framework in each UK country.
Please note that the Forum is represented on the stakeholder group preparing additional research-relevant guidance and we will continue to keep you informed of our progress.
