Trial Manager (two posts) – closing date 25 July

Description & contact details
Trial Manager (2 posts)
Department of Oncology, Old Road Campus Research Building, Oxford or
Churchill Hospital, Oxford
Grade 7: £31,604 – £38,833 p.a. (pro rata for part-time)
We are looking for two Trial Managers to join the Oncology Clinical
Trials Office (OCTO), a team of trial management professionals,
running a wide portfolio of early phase clinical trials and studies.
We work across many different tumour types and therapeutic areas with
trials at varying stages of set-up, active recruitment and follow-up.
You will be responsible for a range of activities including defining
study specific procedures, setting up and managing study sites,
promoting and monitoring recruitment of subjects, preparing regulatory
and ethics submissions, preparing and presenting progress reports,
data collection, assisting with analysis and publication of trials.
You should have a degree, or other relevant qualification, in a
biomedical or associated subject and must have demonstrable experience
in clinical trial management including experience of existing UK
clinical research structures, regulatory and ethical systems, and
working to Good Clinical Practice (GCP) standards. You will need good
administrative and project management skills with the ability to work
on your own initiative, problem solve and organise the work of a
professional team under management guidance.
Whilst the role is a Grade 7 position, we are willing to consider
candidates with potential but less experience who are seeking a
development opportunity, for which an initial appointment would be at
Grade 6 (£28,098 – £33,518 p.a.) with the responsibilities adjusted
accordingly. The development from Grade 6 to Grade 7 would be
supported with suitable training and clear objectives and it would be
expected that the progression from Grade 6 to 7 would be within 12
months. This would be discussed with applicants at
interview/appointment, where appropriate.
This position is offered for 4 years in the first instance. It is a
full-time post, although part-time hours (minimum 0.7 FTE worked over
no fewer than 4 days) would be considered. Any preference to work less
than full-time should be indicated in your application.
All applicants must complete a short application form and upload a CV
and supporting statement.
